Pioneering Future Healthcare through Convergence Knowledge

What you keep in mind in your work and research

I am a physician-scientist specializing in causal modeling within the realm of chronic disease epidemiology. In today’s world, where each field is rapidly advancing, it is challenging for a single researcher to master everything; instead, researchers and teams must balance deep specialization with a wide-ranging perspective. In this context, Kyoto University is one of the ideal places for research because it hosts a variety of clinicians and researchers active across multiple disciplines. Particularly, in my area of research, cutting-edge methods are developed daily, making it crucial to stay informed about global advancements. By focusing on international collaborations and networking across top researchers worldwide, I aim to enhance the international and cross-disciplinary recognition of my field and myself, and to lead the next generation of epidemiology in Japan.
